FAQs

IS IT REALLY NECESSARY TO HAVE RECALL APPOINTMENTS EVERY SIX  MONTHS?

It is generally recommended to come in for an examination and cleaning every six months. However, this depends on the condition of your teeth and gums.
That will be something your dentist will discuss with you during your exam.

HOW MUCH OF MY TREATMENT DO I HAVE TO PAY IF I HAVE DENTAL INSURANCE?

At the clinic we take full payments and patients are reimbursed directly by their insurer.

DO I NEED X-RAYS AT EVERY VISIT?

To have a complete examination, it is sometimes necessary to have x-rays in order to be able to detect certain pathologies which are not visible with visual examination alone.
This also depends on the state of your oral health.
If you're not sure why you need x-rays, don't hesitate to talk to your dentist about it.

WILL A TEETH WHITENING MAKE MY TEETH MORE SENSITIVE?

Teeth whitening can make your teeth more sensitive, because of the nature of the product used.
It is important to have a dental exam before proceeding with a teeth whitening, to ensure that the necessary repairs have been made.

WHAT KIND OF TOOTHBRUSH AND TOOTHPASTE ARE RECOMMENDED?

It is recommended to always  use a toothbrush with soft bristles to avoid damaging the enamel and gums. At the clinic, we prefer electric toothbrushes because they remove plaque well.
You should brush your teeth twice a day, using fluoridated toothpaste.
Don't forget to floss too, to dislodge the bacteria that are between the teeth!

HOW DO I KNOW IF I NEED TO HAVE MY WISDOM TEETH REMOVED?

Wisdom teeth can stay in the mouth for many years without any problem. On the other hand, in a certain part of the population, they can decay, cause bone loss and other consequences. In these cases, it is recommended to have them extracted to avoid complications. Following the intra-oral exam, your dentist can determine whether or not they should be extracted.
